Shelby J. Rothman, CFP®, CPFA, AIF®

Founder and Advisor

Much of what you need to know about Shelby can be found in the very name of her business, EnJoy Financial. That uppercase J? It certainly isn’t a coincidence or a mistake. Shelby, you see, has a passion for creating financial strategies that help her clients experience true joy as they journey through life.

But Joy also reveals something even more elemental about Shelby — that family is everything to her. Joy is both her middle name and the middle name of her daughter, Marigold. Shelby loves talking about her family — including her husband, David Murdock, and son, Hunter — every chance she gets. She even says welcoming new clients is like bringing them into the EnJoy family and believes deeply in treating others as she wants to be treated.

An experienced retirement, income and legacy planner as well as a qualified real estate strategist, Shelby is dedicated to identifying unique strategies and products that help her clients preserve the money they have worked hard to amass. “You don’t have to be stressed when it comes to your retirement,” she says. “With proper planning, you can have a stress-free retirement that is not dependent on the stock market.”

Shelby is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CPFA, and AIF® professional who has well over two decades of industry experience and can offer both insurance and investment products and services. Before founding EnJoy Financial, she served for nearly nine years as a financial advisor at The Hartford and worked for EnJoy Financial Financial Counsel for more than a decade.

Born and raised in San Diego, Shelby earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Azusa Pacific in 1996. She now resides in Glendale and loves traveling and spending time with her family — including their dog, Jackson, and parrot, Rio — when she isn’t helping clients find the retirement confidence and happiness they deserve. Shelby also enjoys hiking, fishing, skiing and boating.

Meaning of the Marigold

Have you ever looked at our logo and thought to yourself, “That sure looks like a marigold?” If so, let us start by saying we’re pleased, because that very much is by design.

You see, our founder, Shelby J. Rothman, is the product of one incredible Marigold and the parent of another. When given the precious gift of a second child after five years of struggles — including four miscarriages and a series of failed in vitro attempts — Shelby named her daughter Marigold after her amazing mother.

The marigold flower often is linked to the sun. Able to thrive in extreme heat, it has come to symbolize power, strength and light, and it most certainly represents those qualities for Shelby and her family.

At EnJoy Financial, we want it to represent the same for you. We want to be your ray of hope and source for resilience and protection. Through the unique, comprehensive financial plans we create, we aim to empower you to face the future with confidence, boldly pursue your dreams and be an inspiration to those around you.

To see how we do that, schedule your free call or meeting today. Together, we’ll begin sowing the seeds for a joyful future.
