When given the precious gift of a second child after five years of struggles — including four miscarriages and a series of failed in vitro attempts — Shelby named her daughter Marigold after her amazing mother.
The marigold flower often is linked to the sun. Able to thrive in extreme heat, it has come to symbolize power, strength and light, and it most certainly represents those qualities for Shelby and her family.
